Rappers Drake and Nicki Minaj Squash Beef After Rappers Agree To Future Playdates With Children

Frequent collaborators Drake and Nicki Minaj have buried the hatchet and all it took was a child.

In a guest appearance on Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix),” the Trinidadian-New York emcee raps, “To be honest/I hope one day we do a play-date with Adonis.”

Minaj had kept much of the details under wraps regarding her pregnancy including the child’s gender. She publically broke the news that she gave birth to healthy baby boy just days ago. The Adonis that she references in her verse is Drake’s son, who just celebrated his third birthday as well.

Drake and Nicki’s divergence reportedly began during an incident in which she was shopping with former-beau, Philadelphia rapper-actor Meek Mill. According to some, Mill urged Nicki to pay for her items while he separately paid for his. To his chagrin, Nicki told him that, ‘Drake would never do that.’ A series of subtle shade would be thrown from all sides for the next few years with Drake and Mill trading disses. Fans also caught a symbolic reference to Drake in Minaj’s music video for her 2019 single “Hard White.” In it, a computer-generated scorpion is shown dismembered and bleeding, a symbolic reference for the Toronto rapper’s “Scorpion” album.

Drake took kindly to the lyrical invitation, responding in writing, “Play dates soon come @nickiminaj,” via Instagram live, demonstrating that he was listening to his estranged comrade’s new music and was open to reconciliation.

The two re-followed one another on Instagram and fans reacted across social media platforms with relief and glee. A Twitter user, Predictors, forecasted that , “Drake and Nicki Minaj will collaborate again and include their children in the song’s music video.”

Nicki posted numerous pictures of the congratulatory messages she and husband Kenneth Petty received welcoming their new baby on Instagram. May they ride the celebratory wave of the gift of new life when the dirty diapers, spit up, teething, and ceaseless crying begin.
