President Barack Obama and the former First Lady Michelle Obama have been getting all that they deserve since they left the White House a few years ago, and now it seems as if the former President is ready to speak up on his achievements, failures and the state of America currently.
Though he’s released a number of books over the years, it seems as if these memoirs are going to finally go in-depth about his time in the White House and after, and how it has shaped him in the years since. A Promised Land, available for pre-order and releasing on November 17, will be the first volume from his memoirs.
The $45.00 book, according to the press release, “tells the story of his improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency—a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil.”
“I’ve spent the last few years reflecting on my presidency,” the former president said. “[With this book,] I’ve tried to provide an honest accounting of my presidential campaign and my time in office: the key events and people who shaped it; my take on what I got right and the mistakes I made; and the political, economic, and cultural forces that my team and I had to confront then—and that as a nation we are grappling with still.”
