With the success of Starz’ P-Valley show, it seems that everyone has connected with a character on the show that they like – including celebrities. They’ve used their platforms to speak up about how they were called for certain roles and share their sadness at their lack of securing the P-Valley bag.

Singer K. Michelle made a somewhat emotional moment out of her own disappointment at not securing the role of Mercedes, another lead, blaming it on the fact that she’s recently undergone a host of health procedures in order to correct the effects of plastic surgery on her body, leaving her unprepared for the role right now.

“But God knew: ‘K, you’re not confident in your body right now. K, you need to get those holes in your body fixed.’,” she said in an Instagram Live session recently.

Influencer Draya Michelle also shared that she auditioned for the role of Autumn Knight. “Fun fact: I auditioned for this role. It was one of the hardest auditions for me. They wanted me to act, dance, and talk with a southern accent.” Ultimately it went to British actress Elarica Johnson.

Queen Diva extraordinaire Big Freedia, hailing from New Orleans, seemed to think that she was perfect for the Uncle Clifford role – and so did someone in casting, at some point. She tweeted to her fans that she “got called for the part to play Clifford,” referring to the Uncle Clifford character on the show, a flamboyant strip club owner who is one of the lead characters.

“You can see me on it right,” asked Freedia in an IG post. See it below.
